Nanocrystalline cores are wound from extremely thin tapes with a thickness of approx. 16 µm. This allows an extremely high permeability of up to 800,000 and a high saturation at an excellent temperature stability to be achieved.
These cores can still be used up to medium frequencies (approx. 50 kHz).
Nanocrystalline cores
Nanocrystalline cores have minimal losses up to 20 kHz and are also very temperature stable.
This material can be used to create significantly smaller and lighter inductors and current-compensated chokes than those made of ferrite.
Amorphous cores
Amorphous cores are a cost-effective alternative to nanocrystalline cores in terms of high saturation, but they have higher losses. Particular attention should also be paid to noise generation due to magnetostriction.
Designs: ring, U, E and block, U and E cores can be supplied with several air gaps (multi-cut).
